MESA and TESE
For these procedures, sperm are aspirated or microscopically extracted by a urologist (with specialized expertise in male infertility) from the male reproductive tract (
testis or epididymis
).
ICSI
is required for sperm obtained via Microepididymal Sperm Aspiration (MESA) or Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE).
