Text:Oncofertility...
Breakthroughs in cancer treatments have meant that there are more young cancer survivors than ever before.  A major concern of many cancer patients is preserving their fertility as they undergo cancer treatments.

Although sperm banking is routine for adult males, there are fewer options for women.
Dr. Danny Schust at our center is available to meet with women to discuss their options for fertility preservation.

The only standard method of preserving reproductive tissue for women is IVF. Sperm from the woman's partner or a donor can be used to create embryos, which are then frozen for later use.

Some women do not choose IVF due to medical, personal, and/or financial reasons.  At our center, we have an experimental trial to cryopreserve (freeze) ovarian tissue.

For more information about this experimental procedure, please visit the Oncofertility Consortium website or visit MyOncofertility.org for information about fertility for cancer patients.
