Text: Preimplantation Embryo Cryopreservation...
Cryopreservation is freezing of preemplantation embryos and storing them for later transfer to the uterus

Extra preimplantation embryos, created after IVF, can be cryopreserved (frozen) for transfer in another cycle

Preimplantation embyos created by IVF for a cancer patient before beginning her chemotherapy or radiation treatment can be stored by cryopreservation.

Freezing can be performed at either the fertilized egg stage or the blastocyst stage

Frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles require less medication, minimal monitoring and are much less expensive than a fresh IVF cycle, while still providing good pregnancy rates.
